What is the return on investment?
The Feed-In Tariff incentive you receive for the electricity you generate from a wind turbine means that installing a turbine is one of the best investments you can make, why wait?
As the Government have a legally binding commitment to meet ambitious carbon reduction targets over the coming years, they introduced the Feed-In Tariffs (FITs). By installing a wind turbine, you will get paid for every unit of electricity you generate and use. Any surplus energy that you do not need can be exported back to the National Grid for an additional payment. You will also be saving thousands of pounds each year in reduced electricity bills.
Our smaller range of wind turbines between 6kW and 15kW are perfectly suited to homeowners, schools and small businesses. The large turbines ranging from 20kW to 100kWs are well suitable for farmers and large businesses.
Wind Turbines ranging from 1.5kWs to 100kWs will provide you with 21p for every kiloWatt the turbine generates through the generation tariff.
As well as the Generation tariff, you will also receive 4.5p for every kW that you do not use and export back to the National Grid. When installing a Wind Turbine evidence of the associated property's EPC is not required.
For a 20kW C&F wind turbine installed in North Yorkshire, with an average wind speed of 6.9m/s you can potentially receive an annual Feed-In Tariff payment of £16,897, savings on your electricity bill of around £4,828 and export tariff payments of around £1,810. The total earnings and savings you can potentially receive is £23,535 per year index-linked (& tax free for domestic installations) which is guaranteed for 20 years.
A degression mechanism for wind turbines will become effective from 1 April 2014. The baseline is 5%; however the degression rate will also depend on previous deployment figures.
