Many renewable energy technologies such as Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and Solar Thermal tubes on domestic properties can now be fitted under the permitted development rights so planning permission is not required.
In March 2012, the General Permitted Development Order (GPDO) was issued which warranted some changes to the non-domestic solar PV market. The majority of non-domestic solar photovoltaic projects will now not require planning permission, subject to certain criteria.
There are still a number of technologies that do need planning permission, and we can help you determine whether a project would be subject to planning permission.
In order to make the whole process as easy as possible, BritishEco can take care of the planning application and related paperwork on your behalf. There is small charge for this service but the fee can often be refunded, or part refunded, when a final order is placed for the renewable energy system. Each situation and technology is different so please speak to your local consultant for further details.
